Almost every traveler makes plans about which beaches to visit when in Paros. Since there are so many of them on our island, we would like to present to you the top 7. Our list should narrow your time consuming research down. However, if you will stay in Paros for e.g. 5 days, you should explore top five beaches. Of course, for more active vacation, you can take one of our daily cruises.
SANTA MARIA BEACH
Santa Maria beach is probably the first choice of every traveller in Paros. Its powdery sand, crysatal sea, organization and Naxos view, makes it one of the best Paros beaches.
This sandy paradise is situated on the north-east coast of the island. Distances to reach Santa Maria beach are quite small. It is located 15km away from Parikia and 5km away from Naoussa. Therefore, you can understand that getting there is a matter of few minutes.
On this, one of the best Paros beaches, you will find anything you might be looking for. There are beach bars here that feature sunbeds and umbrellas. They are not serving only refreshing cocktails but delicious dishes as well. Additionally, if you are water sport enthusiast, you will find water sport centers here. You can rent equipment or take lessons.
As Santa Maria can get a little bit crowded during full season, you can walk along the beach towards the south. You will find few small secluded beaches there. Therefore, it will be easier to relax here. If you have your own beach umbrella, use it.
KOLYMBITHRES BEACH
This beach does not need many introductions. Definitely one of the best Paros beaches, Kolymbithres is situated in Naoussa Bay, opposite to the well-known village. The distinguished aspects of this beach are the sculpted rocks. Unique shapes are the outcome of erosion by the sea and wind. Therefore, it is worth a visit. Among the rocks, you will find two sandy beaches with sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a beach bar on the back side of Kolymbithres, so that it won’t harm the environment. Additionally, there are small beaches between the rocks. If you get there early, you can use them as your private beach.
There are two ways to reach Kolymbithres beach. The first one is of course by road. This one of the best Paros beaches is located 5km away from Naoussa and 11km away from Parikia. Therefore it is quite easy to reach it, especially if you have your own mean of transport. The second way to get there is by using caique boat from Naoussa. Yes, it is an unforgettable experience. Caique boats, specially modified for people, are departing from the port of the village. The trip takes about 15 minutes and you can reach the same way Monastiri beach as well.
MONASTIRI BEACH
Another unique place and definitely one of the best Paros beaches. Monastiri, which means “monastery”, took its name from St. John monastery. Like Kolymbythres, Monastiri beach is situated in Naoussa Bay as well. Therefore, if your time in Paros is limited, you can visit both of them in the same day. The amazing fact is that you can reach Kolymbithres by caique and then, use it again to get to Monastiri.
Monastiri is on our “best Paros beaches” list due to many of its aspects. First and foremost because it features a beautiful environment. The beach consists of sand and crystal sea. As it has a shallow waters and it is hidden in a bay, Monastiri is perfect for small children. It is safe and it rarely has waves. Additionally, it is organized with sunbeds, umbrellas, beach bar and water sport center. The cape where Monastiri is situated is called Paros Park. This is a cultural and environmental park of Paros. Therefore, on its own it is an attraction. It features trekking routes, open theatre, museum and Korakas lighthouse. Due to the importance of this area to people of Paros, you must visit it, especially if you are staying in Naoussa.
MARTSELO
Martselo beach is one of the most popular locations on our island. Therefore, it is one of the best Paros beaches. Like the majority of our beaches, it consists of sand and crystal waters. It has a beach bar but not exactly. It is bigger than beach bars on most of Paros beaches and you will find here many sunbeds as well as umbrellas.
Due to its location, in Parikia Bay and opposite to the capital, Martselo is visited by local people as well. However, if you get there early, you will definitely find a nice spot.
In order to reach Martselo beach, just like Kolymbithres, you will have to choose two ways. That is by road or by sea. First of all, if you choose the road, you will need your own mean of transport. There is no bus schedule to Martselo. The second way is of course by caique boat from Parikia port. You will disembark on the west side of the beach and you will walk a bit to the organized part.
You might have heard of Krios beach, as this is known location as well. Due to that fact, we thought that you should know few things about it. First of all, Krios shares the same coast line with Martselo. Therefore, if you walk along the beach towards the south, you will reach Krios. It consists of powdery sand as well yet, it is little bit quieter than Martselo. There are few sunbeds and umbrellas on Krios too.
MOLOS
Molos beach is a unique place on the island, as it is situated in area of Natura 2000. Because of that fact, it is one of the best Paros beaches. You will find this amazing environment on the east coast of our island. Due to the legislation, Molos beach is not organized. You will not find any infrastructure here, just a small windsurfing center. Besides that, there are no sunbeds or umbrellas on Molos. The beach consists of powdery sand and crystal waters. Additionally, it is quite shallow. Therefore, it is safe for small children. Combination of sand and shallow sea is perfect for parents, because they can relax and enjoy the day.
If you decide to visit this, one of the best Paros beaches, you should know few things further. First of all, there is no bus schedule. The closes bus stop is in Marmara village. This means that, if you don’t have your own mean of transport, you will have to walk for about 2km. However, if you have a car, it is easy to reach it. Additionally, if you have your own sun umbrella, you should take it with you. You will not find any shops on Molos beach as well. Therefore, you have to take with you a sufficient amount of water and maybe a snack.
Next to Molos beach, you will find Kalogeros beach. This is another unorganized yet unique beach. You might have heard of it because its clay features therapeutic properties for the skin.
As you can understand, this part of Paros is worth a visit, due to its beauty and serenity.
GOLDEN BEACH
Golden Beach or Chrissis Akti does not need many introductions, as you probably already know it. One of the most famous and best Paros beaches is situated on the south-east coast of the island. Its distance from Parikia is 20km and from Naoussa is 16km. On Golden Beach you will find few beach bars, restaurants and water sports centers. Also, on Golden Beach, the Windsurfing World Championship was organized.
Golden Beach consists, like most of best Paros beaches, of powdery sand. There are many sunbeds and umbrellas here as well. Additionally, beach bars organize parties from midday till the evening. Therefore, you can spend all day on Golden Beach. To reach it, you can use the local bus line or your own means of transport.
LIVADIA BEACH
Livadia is also known as the main beach of Parikia. It is situated within walking distance from the capital of Paros. It is quite long as it actually consists of two parts. The first one is small and it is closer to the main port. The second part is little bit further, less than 1km away from the first.
As Livadia is one of best Paros beaches, you will find sunbeds, umbrellas as well as beach volley court here. Along the beach, there is a road with many taverns and restaurants. Therefore, you can enjoy dishes of many cuisines like Italian, seafood, traditional Greek etc. Due to its location, Livadia beach rarely has waves because it is situated in Parikia Bay. Additionally, you should know that sunset view from Livadia beach is amazing.
