HOW TO GET FROM ATHENS TO PAROS BY FERRY

This time let say that you wish to get from Athens to Paros by a ferry. First of all, also in this occasion, you should purchase a ticket in advance. As you land in Athens, you have to get to Piraeus from Athens International Airport. That can be accomplished in 3 ways; by bus, by train or using a taxi or transfer service.
Allow us to say that, the one by bus is the most convenient, as far as public transport is concerned. That is due to the fact that you will get into the bus and 1 or 1.5 hours later you will be in Piraeus. The time of course depends on traffic. However, if you choose to use the train (metro) you will need to change lines. Therefore, you will take the train from the airport to “Monastiraki” station and then change the line towards Piraeus. Do not think that this is hard; it is quite easy but not as easy as taking the bus.
Taking a taxi or using transfer service is of course the most convenient, stress-free way to reach Piraeus. However it costs. We will not concentrate on costs because they might change but, you might have a 50€ bill in mind.
It is useful to know that it takes about 4.5 hours to reach Paros from Piraeus. If you choose to travel with a “high speed ferry” it is even faster.

IMPORTANT

It is very important to know that ferries from Athens (Piraeus port) to Paros depart early in the morning and in the afternoon (around 5 p.m.). Therefore, if your flight arrives at e.g. 4 p.m., you will not make it. In this case you will have to stay overnight in Athens. If this is the case, then we suggest you spend the night in the airport. It is more convenient unless you have booked a hotel.
